The first step in making one of our unique log furniture pieces is to select just the right wood. To do that, we head to the woods! Once we find just the trees, we cut them down.
Next, we use what is called a wood-mizer which happens to be a portable saw mill, and mill the logs to the size wood slabs we will be using.

Once they have been milled, the slabs and branches are left alone to dry for a period of time.

After the drying period, we select just the right pieces for whatever type of log furniture we are crafting. These pieces then have to have the bark peeled off. This is done by hand using old-fashioned hand drawn knives. This process takes a lot of time and energy.

Once the bark is off, the pieces must be sanded.
Depending on the piece of log furniture being crafted, the next step prepares it for being assembled. The legs and arms are fitted using a tenon cutter. And the slabs for tables, seats, benches, etc. are prepared for legs and arms using a tenon cutter also. Each piece is then fitted and glued together.

Then there is a final clean-up and sanding process. When this is done, a clear coat finish is applied to protect the furniture. This finish not only protects it, but enhances the natural grains and colors in the wood.

As you can seen, each piece of our log furniture is totally handcrafted. A whole lot of time, effort, and care is put into the construction of each piece. Our log furniture is not your ordinary log furniture. Each piece is exquisitely crafted and one-of-a-kind. Our log furniture is sure to bring warmth, comfort, and country charm to any décor.
